The Bills currently hold the No. 26 pick in the NFL draft, which could be an ideal spot for Buffalo to select a wide receiver.

Even though the Bills traded for Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore at the beginning of the offseason, it wouldn’t hurt to pair him with a promising young receiver who could support Josh Allen for the next five to ten years.

Bills Urged to Target Denzel Boston in the NFL Draft

If the Bills are serious about bringing in another wide receiver, targeting Washington’s Denzel Boston could be the best solution. Iestyn Harris from Fansidedbelieves this is a smart move for Buffalo.

“Denzel Boston may be the best WR in this draft that the Bills could actually get,” Harris wrote on Wednesday. “He offers the elite size and frame most teams hope for in a prospect, with some of the best hands in the draft. He’s a highly capable route runner and a fluid mover- A natural athlete and extreme competitor to the finish.

“His flaws reside in struggles to separate from coverage, even at the college level. His speed maxes out far too early for an athlete of his size, though it’s unclear if the issue is technical or physical. Still, warts and all, Boston is a truly impressive prospect. If he’s still available at pick No. 26, the Bills cannot hesitate.”

Boston played four seasons at Washington, racking up 1,781 yards and 20 touchdowns over the course of 43 games. What Boston could bring to the Bills is his elite frame. The young receiver measured in at 6-foot-4 and 212 pounds at the NFL Combine, which could make him a matchup nightmare in the red zone.

Buffalo Might Have to Trade up to Land Boston

The Bills need to secure an elite red zone threat, and Boston could fit that role if Buffalo can manage to acquire him. However, that could be quite challenging. Given that the Bills hold the 26th pick, there’s a chance that Boston might not be available when they’re on the clock. According to The Athletic’s NFL draft analyst, Dane Brugler, Bostonis ranked as his 25th-best prospect overall.

“A good-sized athlete, Boston plays big and balanced, and he has vacuum hands (3.1 percent drop rate),” Brugler wrote on Feb. 11. “He treats the catch point like a power forward in the paint, boxing out and using his rangy frame and focus to secure the football. He doesn’t have the juice to simply run by NFL man coverage, but he is a proven chain-mover.”

The Bills may need to trade up in the draft for Boston, as there’s a strong possibility they’ll have to leap over the Cleveland Browns, who hold the No. 24 pick.

Cleveland has two first-round picks to choose from, one at No. 6 and the other at No. 24. If they don’t select their wide receiver at No. 6, the Browns will likely go for someone at No. 24. Additionally, if Boston is still on the board, the Browns will probably turn in their card and pick him up.
