In a past interview for Grilled of NBA Take-Two Media, the veteran explained why he is the team's locker room leader.

“LeBron and Luka don’t really talk as much, they're locked in. Deandre Ayton’s my guy, he’s kind of all over the place, so I regulate that and make sure everyone else is good” Smart said.

Smart established himself as one of the best role players in the NBA. Known for his toughness, defense and leadership, he previously served as a core piece of the Boston Celtics along with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

Now, the former NBA Defensive Player of the Year has brought his edge to the Lakers team that is all-in to win this year's championship.

Smart played an important role for the Lakers (47-26) being the No. 3 team right now in the Western Conference. In 60 games played, he is averaging 9.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.4 steals.
