The Baltimore Ravens say not to believe everything you hear from Maxx Crosby about his trade, bringing a twist to the Dallas Cowboys.

Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys were in the race and one of the teams in contention to get defensive end Maxx Crosby of the Las Vegas Raiders on their squad for the 2026-27 season. Having an elite edge, such as Crosby, would be a big boost to the Cowboys’ lineup on defense, which is why Jones was willing to make an uncharacteristically strong move during the offseason to get Crosby.

But, it’s difficult to know what to believe anymore when it comes to this trade that went wrong. Crosby, of course, was traded to the Baltimore Ravens, but after failing his physical with the Ravens, he’s back with the Raiders and claims that he’s a “Raider for life.”

During the Tuesday, March 17 episode of his podcast, “The Rush With Maxx Crosby,” the player broke his silence about the ordeal. He said the whole trade thing was “probably one of the most unique, crazy, wild, up-and-down roller coasters I’ve ever been a part of.” But, now some of his comments are getting pushback by the Ravens.

Maxx Crosby Comments Get Pushback by Baltimore Ravens

If they Dallas Cowboys ever bring Crosby over, they want to know that everything he says is true, but the Ravens are claiming that some of Crosby’s comments aren’t truthful. On his podcast, Crosby said he didn’t meet with Ravens head coach Jesse Minter until after his physical.

Regarding meeting general manager Eric DeCosta, Crosby said, “I didn’t get to see the GM at all. I thought I was gonna see him when I first got there. I didn’t see him for five hours.” He added, “I don’t know why. I am not going to speculate. I even asked, ‘Where’s Eric (DeCosta)?’ You know what I mean? He just made the trade. I didn’t see him for five hours.”

ESPN’s Ryan McFadden published an article on Tuesday, March 24, with inside information about what went down during this ordeal. According to McFadden, the reason Baltimore decided not to do the deal, which was for two first-round picks in exchange for Crosby, was because they were worried about the discovery of a degenerative problem that showed up in his surgically repaired knee.

But, here’s the kicker. In his report, the Baltimore Ravens pushed back on Crosby’s statement about the timeline of him meeting with the higher-ups.

An Addendum to Maxx Crosby’s Statement

In a Wednesday, March 25 feature for the Baltimore Ravens’ official website, Kevin Eck says that, “On a side note, McFadden noted in his article that Crosby said on his podcast that he had been at the Ravens’ facility for five hours before he met Head Coach Jesse Minter and General Manager Eric DeCosta. However, the following addendum to the article disputed Crosby’s recollection.”

That addendum read, “After this story was published, a source indicated Minter and other defensive coaches met with Crosby within minutes of him walking into the team facility. DeCosta, who was trying to keep his own free agents and sign others on the first day of the legal tampering period, met with Crosby later that afternoon.”

So, who do we believe? If the Cowboys want a player they can trust in Crosby, that’s something they should find out.
