March 26 – Tigres president Mauricio Culebro is leaving Mexico to take on the role of president of soccer for Arthur Blank’s AMB Sports & Entertainment.

Culebro will oversee Blank’s MLS team Atlanta Utd and Atlanta’s new NWSL expansion team for which Blank paid a $165 million expansion fee, and will make its debut in 2028.

Blank owns the Atlanta Falcons as well as Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta where his teams play and which will host eight games in the 2026 World Cup.

Blank has also been instrumental in the opening of the new US national team training centre in Fayetteville, Georgia, which will be named the Arthur M Blank National Training Center.

Culebro has spent the past five years at Tigres UANL where he oversaw both the sporting and business operations of the club. He is the only club president in Mexico to win men’s and women’s titles.

Prior to Tigres he was COO of the Mexican Football Federation and president of Club América.

In Atlanta an early task will be hiring staff for the NWSL expansion team, as well as construction of the team’s dedicated training centre. There is also a requirement for NWSL-specific modifications to Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
