Despite his record-breaking price tag, Enzo Fernandez could be the subject of a massive summer tug-of-war if Real Madrid test Chelsea’s resolve.
Since Enzo Fernandez’s British-record move in 2023, the Argentine has been a key component of the Blues midfield, yet the club’s persistent instability has begun to test his resolve.
Under the guidance of Liam Rosenior, Fernandez has remained a standout performer, operating in a free central role, much to the delight of the midfielder.
However, Chelsea’s recent Champions League exit at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain and their struggle to secure a top-four Premier League finish have fueled speculation regarding a move to Real Madrid.
While Fernandez recently dismissed rumors of active negotiations, his cryptic “we’ll see after the World Cup” comments have done little to reassure the Stamford Bridge faithful.
With his contract running until 2032, any potential departure would require a massive fee, but the lure of the Bernabeu continues to cast a long shadow over his future in London.
If you could pick Chelsea’s next no.10, would you have Bellingham or Rogers?

Enzo Fernandez is not untouchable at Chelsea
Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has claimed that Enzo Fernandez’s head has been turned and Chelsea could look to cash in on him this summer.
“The situation with Enzo Fernandez is a little bit more complicated, because I think Chelsea will sign another midfielder. And I don’t think he’s being regarded as totally untouchable at Chelsea.
“And it would be interesting if a club like Real Madrid were to make an offer of more than £100 million. I think if they were to do that then it is an offer that Chelsea would consider.
“Although their position is that the player is not for sale and he’s a key player for them, his head has been turned a little bit by the prospect of perhaps playing for Real Madrid.
“And I think him and his representatives know that Real Madrid are looking to sign a new midfielder this summer.”

Chelsea change their stance on Enzo Fernandez
It was initially claimed that Enzo Fernandez was one of Chelsea’s untouchables, including the likes of Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo.
However, it now seems as if his recent comments have changed Chelsea’s mind, with an offer of above £100 million supposedly being enough for them to consider.
Of course, it would help the PSR situation and any underlying UEFA problems, but it’s going to be extremely difficult to find another midfielder on his level.
Chelsea’s policy leans towards purchasing younger talents and Valentin Barco may fit the mould.
