Bam Adebayo drops big statement on playing in Las Vegas

Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo says playing in Las Vegas would feel like a short return to his second home.

Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo opened up about the possibility of playing in Las Vegas and whether Aces fans would support an NBA team, speaking to the media ahead of Wednesday's 120–103 win against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Adebayo said playing in Vegas would feel like a return to his second home, and he believes he would get a lot of support from local fans.

"If I get to play in Vegas, it'd be like going home a little bit to my second home, so that'd be cool. I could see them supporting me like that," Adebayo said.

However, he's not sure if the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces fans would immediately embrace a new NBA franchise.

"I don't know about another team. That's a fine line. Aces fans are really loyal to the Aces," he said. "If they start winning like the Aces do, maybe."

The Las Vegas Aces, one of the most dominant teams in the WNBA, have won three of the last four championships and are led by Adebayo's partner and four-time WNBA MVP A'Ja Wilson.

A new NBA franchise in Las Vegas would have a lot of work ahead to reach the success the Aces have achieved, but fans would finally get to see NBA basketball on a consistent basis. The league's governors have approved a vote to explore bids and applicants for expansion teams exclusively in Las Vegas and Seattle.
