FC Barcelona need a new striker in the upcoming summer. Ferran Torres’ form has fallen off a cliff in the second half of the current season while Robert Lewandowski is not getting any younger by the day and needs a good alternative.
Among the many names that the club have been linked with in recent times, one of them is Fisnik Asllani. The Hoffenheim striker posted a Ramadan photo carousel on Instagram, and one image quickly caught Barca fans’ attention because it appeared to show him watching Barcelona while playing Fortnite.

He previously said Barcelona had always been his dream club and that he had always wanted to play there. There cannot be a clearer come-get-me-call.
That is what gives this story its edge. On its own, a player watching Barca on a screen would not mean much. But when it comes from someone who has already spoken openly about wanting to play for the club, supporters naturally start connecting the dots.
What does make the link more interesting is the profile itself. Asllani is described as a forward Deco likes, a 23-year-old with size, presence and the ability to combine away from the box, which sounds close to the kind of long-term planning Barcelona need in attack.
Barca would not be alone, with Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Tottenham also said to be in the picture, while the fee is expected to be above €30 million. That is a rather sizeable fee for a relatively unproven talent, especially coming to a club of this magnitude.
His numbers are very decent. Nine goals and six assists in all competitions is not an outrageous total, but it does suggest a striker on the rise and with the raw material to work with. Regardless, it looks like Barcelona are aiming much higher.
