A snapshot from a contest between the Los Angeles Rams and the New York Jets.

This would shake things up.

Chris Brockman told Rich Eisen that he thinks the Los Angeles Rams are going to do something “crazy” during the 2026 NFL draft.

“The more and more you think about it, and you think about where this team is slated, the moves that they have already made, and their history — it feels like the Rams are going to do something crazy during the NFL draft. Trade up for Jeremiyah Love?” Brockman speculated on “The Rich Eisen Show.”

That inspired me to explore what a potential Rams trade-up with the New York Jets would look like.

Los Angeles Rams receive: a 2026 first-round pick (No. 2 overall)

New York Jets receive: a 2026 first-round pick (No. 13 overall), a 2026 second-round pick (No. 61 overall), a 2026 third-round pick (No. 93 overall), and a 2027 first-round pick

Let’s get crazy #Jets fans, tell me if you’d be interested in this idea.

One of @chrisbrockman‘s overreaction Monday topics on a Tuesday was the #Rams are going to do something “crazy” during the 2026 #NFLDraft via @RichEisenShow.

What about this:

LA moves up from No. 13

The Jets aren’t a player away. They could use more picks to fill more roster holes.

Los Angeles is clearly all in on trying to win a Super Bowl. Their general manager, Les Snead, once wore a t-shirt that read “F— Them Picks.”

If they want Love the talented Notre Dame running back, as Brockman suggested, the only way to guarantee his availability is by trading up with the Jets. There has been legitimate buzz that he could go off the board at either No. 3 overall to the Arizona Cardinals or No. 4 overall to the Tennessee Titans.

Getting Into the Numbers

According to the NFL draft value chart, the Jets’ No. 2 overall pick is worth 2,600 points.

The Rams’ combination of picks: a first-rounder, second-rounder, and third-rounder this year, with a future first sprinkled in, is worth 2,570 points, according to the chart.

In other words, it is a near-identical swap. When you get these massive blockbuster trade-ups, typically, the team trading up pays an additional tax for moving up that far.

However, in this case, both sides are getting what they want. It’s also unclear what the trade demand is for this pick in this particular draft class.

Weighing the Pros and Cons of This Potential Decision

The Jets don’t have a third-rounder this year because of a prior trade with the Philadelphia Eagles for Haason Reddick. This trade would fill that void and some.

Looking ahead to the future, the Jets would hold four first-round picks in the 2027 NFL draft. PFF’s lead NFL draft analyst, Trevor Sikkema, told me on “Boy Green Daily” that this is a special historic class.

They could use that treasure chest of picks to potentially acquire a franchise quarterback. That draft class is expected to be rich at multiple positions of need.

That is all well and good, but there is also a downside. This 2026 NFL draft only has so many blue-chip level players. It isn’t considered one of the best classes of all time. With the No. 2 overall pick, the Jets could add a special talent that could help their team.

If they trade all the way back to pick No. 13, that same level of prospect likely won’t be on the board. Is that something the team would be comfortable with? That is truly the only potential hang-up in a deal like this.
