Lamine Yamal names the Chelsea legend he would love to have played alongside

Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal is clearly destined for big things in the game, and picked a Chelsea legend when asked to name one player from history he’d have loved to play with in each position.

Yamal battled Estevao Willian in the battle of the wonderkids at Stamford Bridge earlier this season, with the Brazilian coming out on top in the Champions League.

Estevao scored a stunning goal, while Marc Cucurella did a job on Yamal, but it is Barcelona who are still in the competition after Chelsea’s exit at the hands of PSG.

Lamine Yamal admits he’d have loved to play alongside Didier Drogba

Yamal is part of a devastating attack at the Nou Camp, which includes former Blues target Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski, although it is a Blues legend in the striker position he stated he would love to have played alongside.

The youngster claimed in a TikTok with eFootball that he would love to have featured in a frontline with Didier Drogba.

The Ivorian featured in some legendary frontlines at Stamford Bridge, with the likes of Joe Cole, Florent Malouda, Arjen Robben and Salomon Kalou flanking him throughout the years.

Yamal has the quality and potential to outperform all of those players, and he would certainly have benefitted with featuring alongside Drogba.

While he also boasted a great goalscoring record, it was one of the striker’s greatest skills to get the best out of his teammates alongside him.

Didier Drogba is Chelsea's best signing since 2004.

It is no coincidence that he featured alongside club-record goalscorer Frank Lampard for the majority of his career, assisting 12 of his goals and playing a part in plenty more.

It has been a burden for whichever striker Chelsea have signed over the last 10-15 years that they have Drogba’s legacy in West London to live up to.

Liam Delap is currently struggling greatly at Stamford Bridge, however Joao Pedro seems to be taking to the task well.

John Terry has even compared Pedro to Drogba during his first season at the club, and Chelsea are hopeful they have finally found the long-term answer to their goalscoring woes in the form of the Brazilian.
