Chelsea are pushing hard to secure the signature of Marseille winger Said Remadnia, according to reports.

The Sun claim that the Blues “have tabled a five-year proposal” to the 16-year-old’s entourage, and they are even prepared to help relocate the teenager’s parents to London in order to help him settle in England.

Remadnia has attracted the attention of the club after his performances for Marseille in the UEFA Youth League this season.

The forward scored 2 goals (including one against Newcastle), as well as contributing one assist in 7 appearances, as Marseille made it to the first knockout round.

What do Chelsea fans need to know about the player?

Remadnia is known for his pace and his ability to ghost past opponents with his dribbling and superior technical skill. Observers have drawn comparisons between him and two former Lyon academy players, Rayan Cherki and Bradley Barcola, who now ply their trades at Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, respectively.

The winger can play for three different countries – France, Tunisia and Algeria – due to his ancestry, and he is currently part of Tunisia’s Under 20 team. He doesn’t have to make a final decision on which nation he plays for until he gets capped in a competitive match at senior level.

Marseille are determined to keep hold of Remadnia

While Chelsea believe they can persuade the player to make the switch to Stamford Bridge, his current team have not given up hope of keeping him.

Marseille sporting director Mehdi Benatia has kept in touch with Remadnia and his representatives, and he has offered him a new contract.

However, the youngster has yet to make up his mind where his future lies. If he does decide that he wants to join Chelsea, he would not be able to officially complete his move until he turns 18 due to work permit rules. That means fans would have to wait until the summer of 2028 to see him in a Blues shirt.
