Bills connected to Chris Brazzell II

The Buffalo Bills traded for DJ Moore to bolster the receiver position, but the team could also draft a receiver in the first round to bolster the position.

Buffalo has been looking to get more weapons for Josh Allen, and the team could very well add a receiver or two during the NFL Draft. Although the Bills have been linked to drafting defensive help in the first round, NFL analyst Lestyn Harris of FanSided links the team to wide receiver Chris Brazzell II from the Tennessee Volunteers.

“Arguably one of the top athletes in the draft class, he brings a wide range of physical traits,” Harris wrote. “A true WR, his game speed and fluidity when running routes are impressive. He has a solid release package, good awareness downfield and near the sidelines, and some of the best game speed in the class.

“Backhandedly, Brazzell may be too much of a wide receiver. He’s underweight for his frame, which leads to struggles beating press coverage or physical cornerback play. At the catch point, his timing needs much work, and he fails to create after the catch when he does haul it in. He’s a great talent, but unvaried. At the time of this writing, Brazzell is the only player listed that the Bills have not directly spoken to.”

Brazzell would help the Bills’ receiving core, but there are some questions about how he fits in the NFL. At Tennessee last season, he recorded 1,017 yards and 9 touchdowns as he became the Vols’ No. 1 receiver.

Brazzell is a 6-foot-5, 200lbs receiver.

Brazzell Can Stretch Field for Bills

If Buffalo does select Brazzell, it would be a bold move to help bolster the receiver.

Brazzell can also help stretch the field for Buffalo, which has been an issue for the Bills’ offense. Josh Allen has a cannon for an arm, but Buffalo hasn’t been able to get a true deep ball threat, which Brazzell can be, according to Damian Parson of Bleacher Report.

“Explosive athlete with great length. Brazzell has the height of a traditional X-receiver with field-stretching top-end speed,” Parson wrote. “He will take the top off the defense and force defensive backs to play off-ball with a cushion to lessen the chances he strides past them.”

However, an issue Brazzell has is his physicality, as his play strength can improve. But if he can improve that, he could very well be a No. 1 receiver in the NFL if he continues to develop.

Buffalo Could Draft WR in Round 1

Despite the Bills trading for DJ Moore, the team may not be done adding to the receiver room.

Bills insider Sal Capaccio believes the team still could look to draft a receiver in the first round, despite the Moore trade.

“I don’t take WR off table in Rd 1 for Bills even after trading for DJ Moore simply because of financials,” Capaccio wrote on X. “WR is kinda like the new QB. Rookie deals vs deals after 3-4 years for really good ones are astronomically different. And that’s just one guy. You need another 4-5 on roster.”

Buffalo has the 26th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
