“I always have the doors open”–Arsenal player hints at transfer as he visits another club

Arsenal are approaching a crucial summer for Gabriel Jesus, with the striker’s future increasingly under scrutiny as the end of the season draws closer.

The Brazilian has endured another stop-start campaign due to fitness issues. Injuries have limited his rhythm again, something that has followed him over the past two seasons.

Even so, when available, he has remained useful for Mikel Arteta. Across the current campaign, Gabriel Jesus has made 24 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing five assists, according to Transfermarkt data.

He is also close to becoming the Brazilian player with the most goals in Premier League history: he has 78, behind only Roberto Firmino, with 82.

But the clock is ticking faster for him. Reports in both England and Brazil have pointed towards a possible departure, with his situation described as‘fast approaching’ a decisive point ahead of the summer window, with multiple clubs linked as suitors.

That is where Palmeiras re-enter the frame.

Palmeiras links and London domino effect

As covered earlier, Palmeiras are preparing a move for Gabriel Jesus if they sell Flaco Lopez. The Argentine striker has been linked with a few of Arsenal’s local rivals, which could trigger a wider transfer chain.

Internally, the Brazilian club see Jesus as the ideal replacement. He offers immediate impact, experience at the highest level and, crucially, a deep emotional connection with Palmeiras.

That connection has now been on display again.

Gabriel Jesus speaks during Palmeiras visit

Gabriel Jesus returned to Palmeiras this week during his break from Arsenal, as told by Brazilian journalist Flávio Latif. The forward trained at the club’s training centre, working on his physical condition with full approval from both sides.

“It’s something [visiting Palmeiras] I’ve always done throughout my career during off periods”, he revealed. “I think you can make the most of both things. Family moments with the people we love but without neglecting your health and fitness.

Speaking about the visit, he made a telling comment about his relationship with the club.

“I always have the doors open. Everyone knows Palmeiras is my home, where I grew up, and I always have the doors open to go to the club. Arsenal and Palmeiras have a great relationship and approved my training here.”

Gabriel Jesus regularly returns to Palmeiras during breaks – and he never hid his desireof playing for them again –, but the timing of this visit stands out.

With his Arsenal future uncertain and interest building around a potential return, his words reinforce a narrative that has been developing for months.

Summer plans

Gabriel Jesus has not publicly pushed for a move. However, his repeated references to Palmeiras as “home” and the open-door message will not go unnoticed.

For Arsenal, the situation remains one to monitor closely. Any serious move from Tottenham, Fulham or West Ham for Flaco Lopez could accelerate Palmeiras’ plans.

If that happens, Arsenal may quickly find themselves dealing with interest in one of their forwards – and this time, the player’s own words suggest the door is very much open.
