The Giants have been linked to a potential reunion with wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. in free agency

The New York Giants have been active this offseason, and they appear poised to take a big step forward in 2026. However, they still have some work to do, and while the majority of their remaining additions will come in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft, the front office could still be looking at several players in free agency.

One guy who put himself back on the map, thanks to the Fanatics Flag Football Classic, is veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who previously spent the first five years of his career in the NFL with the Giants. Teams have reportedly begun showing renewed interest in Beckham after seeing him in action last weekend, and if you ask NFL insider Jordan Schultz, he thinks a return to New York could be in the cards.

Giants Could Eye Reunion with Odell Beckham Jr. in Free Agency

The No. 12 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Beckham burst onto the scene as a rookie with the Giants, as he racked up 91 receptions for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in just 12 games of action. Those numbers helped Beckham earn Pro Bowl honors, and he also took home the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.

Beckham earned a pair of Pro Bowl and All-Pro Second Team selections in both 2015 and 2016, but his relationship with the Giants soured, and he ended up getting traded to the Cleveland Browns ahead of the 2019 season. He never managed to hit the same heights he hit with them, though, and he got released midway through the 2021 campaign. He would sign with the Los Angeles Rams, who he helped win Super Bowl LIV a couple of months later.

Beckham suffered a torn ACL in the Super Bowl, though, and he’s struggled to get his career back on track since then. He’s missed a pair of seasons in 2022 and 2025, while also putting together a pair of middling campaigns with the Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins in between. Beckham is healthy now, though, and he’s eyeing an NFL return. With that in mind, Schultz thinks a reunion with the Giants would be the perfect storybook ending to his career.

“There’s a real shot that Odell Beckham has a home going into the season,” Schultz said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “I don’t think anything is necessarily imminent, but this is the healthiest he’s been in the last couple years … I can’t think of a better story than the New York Giants, ending his career there.”

Should the Giants Sign Odell Beckham Jr.?

New York’s wide receiver room has already seen some turnover take place this offseason. After being thrust into the team’s No. 1 receiver role last year, Wan’Dale Robinson bolted for the Tennessee Titans in free agency, although he was quickly replaced by former Atlanta Falcons pass catcher Darnell Mooney. Of course, it’s worth remembering that Malik Nabers is set to return after his season came to a premature end thanks to a torn ACL.

Is there room for Beckham in that offense? Possibly, if he were able to slot into a secondary role behind Nabers and Mooney. Considering how he didn’t play at all in 2025, though, and he caught just nine passes for 55 yards in his nine-game stint with the Dolphins, there’s no guarantee Beckham will pan out. Taking a flier on him certainly wouldn’t be the worst idea, though, so at the very least, the front office will probably explore bringing Beckham back to town.
