Many fans and analysts criticised the Dallas Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones, for letting his ego get in the way of business and losing the best player he had on his team in Micah Parsons.

Jones traded Parsons after spending four seasons together in return for Defensive Tackle Kenny Clark, a 2026 first-round pick, and a 2027 first-round pick.
Parsons suffered a major ACL injury in week 15 of the 2025 season during a game against the Denver Broncos and ended up missing the Playoffs. He is now preparing for the 2026 season, but the Packers have now been hit with some bad news.
With Parsons believed to be missing the first quarter of the 2026 season, fans are now hailing Jerry Jones as a mastermind. The Cowboys’ GM received heavy backlash last year when he traded Parsons for the Packers’ Kenny Clark and a draft pick. Although Parsons is now injured and highly unlikely to have the same level of burst in pace after an ACL tear, it looks like Jones knew what he was doing.
“Jerry Jones took the Packers to the cleaners.” one fan reacted.
“Jerry cooked.” another fan wrote.
“I can’t wait until they don’t win the division next year, and then they can say “well if we had Micah the first few weeks” blah blah blah. Always coping especially now that the bears embarrassed them in horrendous fashion TWICE and Caleb beat love in his first playoff game.” Another fan shared their thoughts.
“Meanwhile Mahomes who tore his ACL the exact same injury on the exact same day as Parson is already back to throwing. Mahomes is the GOAT.” another fan added.
“2 first rounders lost, massive extensions, cap albatross, couldn’t sign back many of their key players… tough call by the packers on that one.” another fan pointed out.
Micah Parsons Shares Honest Thoughts on Relationship With Jerry Jones
Micah Parsons’ trade saga went on for a long time, ending with him securing a contract extension worth $188 million, which goes on for 4 years.
Talking about his relationship with the Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones, and said that he wishes some of the things that took place at the time had not actually happened.
Parsons said he wishes Jones hadn’t brought the Packers star into the office and just let the agent speak, and that their relationship was not compromised.
“I thought me and Jerry had a good relationship up to that point until this offseason, and it’s sad that it went to s— like that. I don’t know about Jerry, but I have no bad blood,” Parsons said. “If I saw Jerry today, I would shake hands with him and say thank you for the opportunity I had to be a Cowboy.” Parsons told the Clarence Hill of All City DLLS Cowboys.
Parsons further added that there are only two people who know what actually went down in the situation and that’s him and Jones, he further confirmed that he is not mad at anybody now.
