Marcus Rashford is currently on loan at Barcelona but will return to Manchester United if a permanent deal isn’t struck.
It is public knowledge that there is a £26 million buy option for Marcus Rashford attached to his Barcelona loan deal, but that option has not yet been triggered by the Spanish giants.
Barcelona’s president has pledged to keep Rashford, but numerous reports have circulated claiming that Rashford is too expensive for Barcelona to sign permanently.
Interim head coach Michael Carrick wants Rashford to return to Old Trafford after he was frozen out under Ruben Amorim.

Owen Hargreaves wants Marcus Rashford to return
Carrick confirmed United want a left winger this summer, and there have already been links to targets such as Yan Diomande.
But United still have Rashford on their books, and former player Owen Hargreaves would like to see the 28-year-old return and play on the left wing.
Speaking on TNT Sports Football, Hargreaves said: “I think, obviously, Marcus has done brilliantly at Barcelona, but again, I’d love to see him on the left-hand side [at United].

“That’s probably the only spot where I think there’s a bit of space for somebody in that left-wing position. I think Marcus would suit brilliantly.
“Sometimes the change of scenery is good for both, but I’d love to see him. I just love watching Marcus play, and he’s an academy boy.
“The climate’s different now, so he might thrive in that as well. I hope he stays, but I can understand if he doesn’t as well.”

Marcus Rashford seems to want Barcelona move
It is obvious that Rashford is enjoying his football at Barcelona, and his body language suggested that wasn’t the case during his final few years at Old Trafford.
If it was up to the player, Rashford wants to stay at Barcelona and complete a permanent move, and that should tell Ineos everything they need to know.
United shouldn’t bring Rashford back into the first-team picture at United if he doesn’t want to be there.

Ineos made sure that signings such as Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko were desperate to sign for United, and they all rejected other clubs to make the move to Old Trafford.
The same standards should be held of Rashford, and he has made it clear he would rather be a part of Barcelona’s project.
