Under NBA rules, this type of deal doesn't require a team to waive anyone from its 15-man roster. Teams are eligible for a hardship exception if they have four players out with injury or illness for at least three games and are expected to miss at least two more weeks.

Jeffries, 28, began his NBA career with the Kings in 2019 as an undrafted free agent from Tulsa.

Since then, he's bounced around the league, appearing in 111 regular-season games with Sacramento, Houston, Memphis, New York, and Charlotte.

The 6-foot-5 guard/forward averages 4.6 points and 2.1 rebounds in 15.9 minutes per game for his career.

This season, he's spent his time in the G League with the Stockton Kings, putting up 21.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.

Jeffries' 10-day contract is worth $165,197 and will run through April 4.
