Saints’ Offensive Coordinator Sees Quarterback Son Workout For The Los Angeles Rams

On Thursday, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that the New York Jets and Los Angeles Rams will workout LSU Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier:

“With the Jets and Rams set to take a closer look soon at one of the draft’s intriguing QB prospects,” Pelissero reported.

During an appearance on NFL Network’s “The Insiders,” Nussmeier, the son of New Orleans Saints’ OC Doug Nussmeier, reflected on the tough 2025 college season, where he was limited to just nine games.

“It has been a long road to try and get back to being healthy. It’s been tough, and it was a challenging year,” Nussmeier said, before going deeper on his injury.

“The injury occured day two of fall camp last season. So, really, any time I went to throw the football, it was a stabbing pain in my ab. We actually didn’t know what it was either throughout the entire year. It’s not the trainers or doctors fault here, it was just kind of a rare deal. I have discussed with the teams what the actual injury was, now that we have the real diagnosis. All of the teams have that information. I won’t release that publically but it was a rare, frustrating deal,” Nussmeier said.

This could be an intriguing option for the Cowboys, who reportedly have Ty Simpson on the radar, too.

Nussmeier spent all five of his college years at LSU. He turned into one of the more experienced quarterbacks in the entire nation. Here are his final college stats:

40 Games

660/1032 pass completions/attempts

64% completion percentage

52 touchdowns

24 interceptions

There is no doubt that he will get an opportunity in the league, it will be intriguing to see where.
