Report: Bruno Fernandes' stance on Man Utd signing Sandro Tonali this summer speaks volumes for Ineos

Sandro Tonali is quickly becoming Manchester United’s top midfield target this summer, and it’s a signing Bruno Fernandes has strong feelings about.

With Manchester United looking to rebuild the midfield this summer, Bruno Fernandes must approve, considering he will be working closely with whoever is signed.

It is the biggest decision of the summer, with Casemiro difficult for United to replace. While building a midfield Fernandes approved of could be the key to keeping him.

Sandro Tonali looks increasingly like a favourite contender to be signed, with Fernandes’ stance on his arrival now revealed.

Which Newcastle player would you want Manchester United to sign the most?💰

United have been linked with Tonali, Gordon, Thiaw, Hall and Guimarães. But which makes most sense?

Bruno Fernandes backs Manchester United’s move for Sandro Tonali

According to The Daily Mail, Fernandes could be thrilled by the potential signing of Tonali this summer.

The report explains that Fernandes has added his support to United’s possible move for the Italian midfielder.

Fernandes is said to be so impressed by Tonali, and is incredibly well placed to judge, having come up against him multiple times.

Most recently, Tonali ran United off the pitch in the 2-1 Newcastle win at St James’ Park a few weeks ago.

This development comes with Tonali’s gentleman’s agreement with Newcastle being explained. While the Mail also claims that United are expected to make a formal approach for the Italian once this season ends.

If Tonali arrives the second midfield signing is clearly Adam Wharton

With Tonali already looking positioned as United’s first midfield signing this summer, there needs to be serious consideration over who joins him.

The Italy international is more of a Casemiro replacement, doing the dirty work defensively, while he isn’t the best on the ball, which means his partner should be more passing savvy.

Kobbie Mainoo could be this for United, but signing Adam Wharton to interchange with Mainoo would give United two players who more than make up for the weaknesses that Tonali has.

For United, Tonali is a big upgrade with his ability to cover ground, win balls, and recover speed, all fixing problems that have persisted for years.

But it cannot just be one addition; United must complete the overhaul.
