Why Man Utd star desires European stay over potential MLS or Saudi Pro League switch amid three-club interest

Casemiro’s position on his post-Manchester United future has reportedly emerged amid transfer interest from MLS outfit Inter Miami and Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad.

The 34-year-old five-time Champions League winner will leave Old Trafford in the summer once his Manchester United contract expires at the end of this season.

United have the option to trigger a 12-month extension in Casemiro’s current deal, but the Red Devils have chosen not to extend the Brazil midfielder’s future.

Casemiro’s availability at the end of the 2025-26 Premier League season has sparked interest from several clubs, including Inter Miami, LA Galaxy and Al Ittihad.

MLS or Saudi Pro League? Brazil and Man Utd star Casemiro would need to be convinced on a transfer outside of Europe

Casemiro is currently away from Old Trafford and has reunited with former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti for Brazil’s March international break.

The former Real Madrid midfielder is set to captain five-time World Cup champions Brazil at the upcoming FIFA tournament in North America this summer.

Casemiro has enjoyed a turnaround in form at the Red Devils and the Brazilian defensive midfielder has been a key figure for interim boss Michael Carrick.

Despite turning 34 years old in February, it is believed that Casemiro does not have an interest in making the immediate move to the MLS or to the Saudi Pro League.

ESPN reports that the ex-Los Blancos ace ‘still feels’ that he has enough left in the tank to continue playing top-flight football beyond his Man Utd playing spell.

Amid the interest from Inter Miami and LA Galaxy in the US and Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, the outlet added that Casemiro wants to be in ‘one of Europe’s top leagues.’

Inter Miami, LA Galaxy and Al Ittihad’s interest in Man Utd and Brazil midfielder Casemiro ahead of the World Cup

ESPN has claimed that Al Ittihad are now ‘closely monitoring’ Casemiro’s situation and are ‘keen to tempt’ the Brazil international to move to the Saudi Pro League.

However, Casemiro is not the only option for Al Ittihad and a move for him could be dependent on Brazil teammate Fabinho’s future at the Saudi Pro League club.

Outside of Al Ittihad’s interest, ESPN added that LA Galaxy and Inter Miami are interested in Casemiro and have ‘contacted’ the United star in ‘recent days.’

But neither Inter Miami nor LA Galaxy have submitted any ‘formal offers’ to the former Madrid midfielder over a summer move to the MLS.
