Travis Kelce Caught Singing ‘Opalite' at 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards

Earlier this week, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce waved at a photo of world-famous pop star Taylor Swift, his fiancée since last summer, before signing a new contract to play for the Chiefs in 2026. The photo was of Swift during her The Eras Tour show at Arrowhead Stadium that brought her and Kelce together in July 2023.

On Thursday night, Kelce supported Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl, an album largely written about him, and made a surprise appearance at Swift’s side at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

It marked their awards show debut as a couple.

“OH MY GOD. Travis Kelce is here,” iHeartRadio posted on X (formerly Twitter) alongside a video of the three-time Super Bowl champion entering the venue.

Popular Kelce-Swift fan account Tayvis Nation posted a video of Kelce and Swift walking to their seats, with Kelce’s hand on Swift’s waist.

It only took a few minutes into the FOX broadcast for host Ludacris to give the people what they wanted. Ludacris shouted out, “The most awarded iHeart music artist in history, Taylor Swift,” as the camera panned to Swift standing beside a doting Kelce.

The most eagle-eyed Swifties, which is all of them (complimentary), spotted Kelce and Swift enjoying Alex Warren’s performance, and then dancing during Lainey Wilson’s. The broadcast briefly captured them smiling and clapping for Wilson.

But the Swifties went crazy when Kelce was caught singing along to Swift’s “Opalite” during a commercial break.

Swift was nominated for nine awards: Artist of the Year, Pop Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (“The Fate of Ophelia”), Pop Song of the Year (“The Fate of Ophelia”), Favorite TikTok Dance (“The Fate of Ophelia”), Best Lyrics (“The Fate of Ophelia”), Best Music Video (“The Fate of Ophelia”), Favorite On Screen (Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The End of an Era), and Favorite Tour Style (Taylor Swift | The End of an Era).

On March 10, Kelce made his first public comments about returning to the Chiefs for his 14th NFL season on The Pat McAfee Show. He explained how Swift inspired him to keep playing football.

“We share the same love for what we do,” Kelce said. “Fortunately, we’ve had this desire since we were kids in our selective professions. It’s amazing to see her keep going to the table, keep finding new things to write about, keep finding new melodies and things like that, and on top of that, still seeing her have that love and joy in what she does. Of course, that’s motivating. That’s motivating for anybody to see, let alone my fiancée.”

The future Hall of Famer added, “Knowing that I’m going through something where I’m trying to figure out exactly what the future holds for me, something like that definitely motivates me to say, ‘You know what? I’m not done, either! I still got some ideas in the back of my mind and still got some juice left to play this game.'”
