Lewis Hall
Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall
Barcelona have Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall in their target list for the summer window.
The 21-year-old graduated from Chelsea’s academy but struggled to find a place in their first team.
Therefore, the Blues let him join Newcastle United on loan in August 2023 and the Magpies made his stay permanent a year later.
The left-back has been a regular under Eddie Howe, playing 96 matches, of which 40 are from this season. This includes 24 Premier League appearances with 19 starts.
His stats per game in the league this season are as follows:
Interceptions: 1.0
Tackles: 1.9
Possession won [final third] 0.4
Ball recovered: 4.6
Clearances: 2.7
Duels won: 5.8
Hall’s performances have already seen a few English clubs take notice. Friday’s edition of Sport report Barcelona have included him in their short list.
Barcelona watched Newcastle United player
Hansi Flick has Alejandro Balde and Gerard Martín as the two left-backs at the Camp Nou and the duo could leave after this season. On Thursday, Sport Witness relayed news of Manchester United, Manchester City and Aston Villa making initial contact for Balde.
Therefore, the Catalan club have identified Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall, Bayer Leverkusen’s Alejandro Grimaldo and Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso as targets who ‘fit the sporting profile’, meaning fit into Flick’s system. Barca and are closely following the trio.

Barcelona have previously held talks with Grimaldo, valued at €15m. He knows the club well from his time with their academy. The Italian, on the other hand, will cost €30m.
The third target is Hall. Earlier this month, he played the full 90 minutes against Barca in both legs of the Champions League last 16.
The Spanish giants’ coaching staff were impressed with his performances and see him as a ‘full-back with great stamina and very difficult to get past defensively.’
Sport state Hall’s valuation is €30m plus Eddie Howe’s side ‘don’t usually sell’. In short, these are the problems for Barca to sign him and therefore, he’s unlikely to arrive at the Camp Nou.
Contract, value and agent info
Transfermarkt value Lewis Hall at €35m, and he has a contract with Newcastle United until 2029.
Taking this and his performances into account, the Magpies are more likely to demand a fee way more than the €30m quoted by Sport. Once Barcelona ambition hits financial reality, this one is likely to fall apart.
