Chelsea centre-back Levi Colwill could feature for the Under-21s when they take on Fulham in Premier League 2 on April 10th, according to reports.
The 23-year-old has been pictured at Cobham with the rest of the first-team squad in recent weeks, but head coach Liam Rosenior was keen to emphasise that the defender is only taking part in “modified training” at the moment.
It is believed that Colwill is working his way back to full fitness based on an individual training plan devised by the club’s medical team.
Romeo Lavia went through a similarly bespoke process, and The Sun claim that the next stage for Colwill is minutes playing for the Under-21s.
Colwill has not played this season
Some fans are very keen to see the England international back playing for the first team straight away, especially considering how poor the Blues have been defensively in recent weeks.

However, Colwill was forced to undergo surgery on his ACL injury before the campaign started, and he has not kicked a ball in anger since the Club World Cup.
That means he is seriously lacking match fitness, and to avoid any further setbacks, game time in a less intense environment is needed – hence the runout for the Under 21s.
Other Chelsea injury news
You can read a full update here, but to summarise, Rosenior still has 5 other members of the first-team squad on the sidelines.
Benoit Badiashile should return pretty soon. He only missed the defeat to Everton due to illness. Filip Jorgensen (groin) and Trevoh Chalobah (ankle) are, however, several weeks away from returning.
Jamie Gittens (hamstring) has had a setback in his recovery, while captain Reece James (hamstring) may miss the majority of Chelsea’s remaining fixtures if reports are to be believed.
