Arsenal are reportedly preparing a move for highly rated Paris Saint-Germain forward Ibrahim Mbaye as part of their long-term recruitment strategy, with the teenager emerging as a potential target for the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to fresh reports, the winger has been placed on Arsenal’s scouting shortlist after being monitored extensively throughout the 2025/26 season. ARSENAL are said to have watched the player on multiple occasions as they look to secure emerging talent before market values escalate.
Mbaye, who currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain, is regarded as one of Europe’s most promising young attackers. Comfortable on either flank, he has already broken into the first team in Paris, making over 25 appearances this season and contributing with goals and assists despite his age.
The Senegal international’s rapid rise has not gone unnoticed across the Premier League, with Aston Villa also credited with strong interest. However, PSG are keen to retain the forward and are reportedly working on a new long-term contract to fend off suitors.
This presents a significant challenge for Arsenal, who may find negotiations difficult given Mbaye’s contract situation—currently running until 2028—and PSG’s desire to build around young talents.
Despite the obstacles, *ARSENAL*’s interest reflects a clear strategy under manager Mikel Arteta: investing in elite young prospects capable of developing into first-team regulars. The club’s recruitment team, led by Andrea Berta, are believed to view Mbaye as a “future star” rather than an immediate starter.
Is Mbaye ready for Arsenal?
There is no doubt that Mbaye fits Arsenal’s profile in terms of age, versatility and technical ability. His pace, direct dribbling and comfort on either wing make him an exciting prospect in a system that values fluid attacking movement.
However, the key question is whether he is ready for the demands of a title-challenging Premier League side. At present, his output—just a handful of goal contributions in limited minutes—suggests he remains a raw talent rather than a finished product.
ARSENAL already possess established wide options, meaning Mbaye would likely arrive as a developmental player rather than an immediate solution. That raises questions about game time and whether his progression might be better served by staying in Paris or moving to a club offering a clearer pathway to regular football.
