Casemiro insists he will not reverse his decision to leave Manchester United at the end of the season despite pleas from supporters for him to do so.
The former Real Madrid midfielder, 34, announced back in January that he would be departing Old Trafford when his contract was up in the summer and already has a number of suitors, including clubs from the MLS and Al-Ittihad of the Saudi Pro League.
Manchester United fans have called for Casemiro to change his mind and stay for longer following an upturn in the midfielder's form across recent months, chanting “one more year, one more year, Casemiro” after he scored in the recent Premier League win over Aston Villa.
But Casemiro, speaking to The Athletic, confirmed after Brazil's 2-1 loss to France on Thursday that he is not planning to make a U-turn.
“I am still enjoying it a lot (in Manchester),” Casemiro said. “I believe the announcement is now done. It is huge, the affection that the fans have shown towards me.
“But I do really believe the decision is made and done. I am enjoying myself right now. I believe it will be some difficult (emotional) moments, these (final) games at Manchester United.”

Casemiro has been one of the team's most in-form players since Michael Carrick succeeded Ruben Amorim on an interim basis following the Portuguese coach's departure in January.
The midfielder's contract, which makes him one of the team's highest earners, includes a clause which would see him trigger a further year if he started 35 games this season.
But it emerged earlier this week that he and United had agreed to waive the clause, meaning Casemiro will have no contractual obligation to remain at Old Trafford beyond the summer.

Casemiro went on to laud Carrick for the impressive job he has done since stepping into the head coach role mid-season, adding: “Above all, Michael is a specialist in my position on the field, he was a truly great player. That makes everything much easier and he is always talking to us.
“I feel like we are in a good dynamic right now in Manchester and my objective now is to get the club back into the Champions League.”
