Jimmy Butler called out the Golden State Warriors after their loss to the Houston Rockets.

Golden State Warriors starJimmy Butler has time on his hands as he recovers from injury.

Rehab can get boring, so it helps to hop on social media to tease your best friends. Butler’s nature makes him an expert at doing just that.

The 36-year-old former All-Star sustained a torn ACL earlier this season, meaning he won’t be cleared to return to action until sometime after the first few months of the 2026-27 campaign.

In the year-plus Butler has been a Warrior, he has acclimated quite well, especially for an older player. Not only has been a seamless fit on the court, he has been a pro at getting his teammates to like him.

Perhaps no one got closer to Butler in his Golden State tenure than ex-WarriorBuddy Hield, who was dealt at last month’s trade deadline.

In case you were wondering if these guys still keep up with one another, they do.

Hield’s time with the Warriors was rather short-lived. The sharpshooting guard was brought in two summers ago to help cover the loss ofStephen Curry’s former splash brotherKlay Thompson, who departed for the Dallas Mavericks.

But Hield immediately established a synergy with Butler instead, more so off the court.

The two became close friends and haven’t let go of that bond even though Hield is now a member of the Atlanta Hawks.

On Instagram, Butler playfully teased his former teammate, giving fans a good laugh.

Just two besties giving one another a hard time.

Amid a brutal season for the Warriors, mainly thanks to the egregious number of injuries, why not have some fun on the internet. Butler is known for his laid-back, fun nature. He fits well in Golden State in part because of that.

Warriors hoping Hield trade will pay dividends

Anytime a franchise trades one of its star players’ best friends, the hope is the trade works out well.

By sending Hield to the Hawks, the Warriors welcomed skilled big manKristaps Porzignis.

Porzingis has been battling another year of injuries, which isn’t entirely surprising considering his availability track record over his decade-plus-long NBA career.

Of course, an injury-prone player is the last thing the Warriors needed, but the team felt his skilled shooting ability and offensive versatility could help create some magic with the marvelous-but-aging Curry.

Besides, losing Hield wasn’t anything that pained Warriors fans all that much. The 33-year-old was averaging the fewest points and shooting the worst 3-point percent of his long career. Something had to give.

Porzingis is a few years younger and considered the better player. The Warriors won the trade on that front, but the 30-year-old big man needs to stay on the court for anything positive to manifest.

While Butler and Hield continue roasting each other on the internet, Golden State hopes Porzingis provides a significant return.
