Brandon Miller praises Hornets fans after they drown out Knicks supporters

The Charlotte Hornets are still in contention for a top-eight seed in the Eastern Conference with less than 10 games remaining in the regular season.

However, Thursday night marked a difficult matchup as the Hornets hosted the New York Knicks who entered the game as the No. 3 team in the conference.

That said, the Hornets were in control from start to finish, leading for 97% of the game.

Charlotte's biggest lead throughout the contest was 21, as the Hornets finished with an 11-point victory.

Rookie Kon Knueppel was the star, finishing with 26 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. Knueppel also knocked down six-three pointers and surpassed 250 made threes on the season, becoming the youngest player in NBA history to do so.

LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller each contributed four threes as well, finishing with 22 and 21 points respectively.

Following the game, Miller spoke to the media about Charlotte's fans drowning out Knicks supporters.

“I’ve got to give a shout out to the home crowd,” Brandon Miller said.

“I’ve never heard a New York game like this where Charlotte fans are cheering louder than New York fans.”

With the win, Charlotte moved to 39-34, currently tied with both the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat for the eighth seed.

The Philadelphia 76ers aren't that far ahead either, holding an advantage of one game for the seventh seed.

Charlotte will hope to erase that deficit Saturday as they host the 76ers.
