Where Cisse, Kilgore landed in pair of recent mock drafts

Former South Carolina defensive backs Brandon Cisse and Jalon Kilgore are now less than a month away from finding out where they will start their NFL careers.

Both Cisse and Kilgore turned in solid performances at the NFL Combine as well as South Carolina's Pro Day earlier this month as they gear up for the next step in their careers.

Recently, NFL.com's Chad Reuter released a four-round mock draft while ESPN's Field Yates released a two-round mock draft.

In Reuter's mock draft, he had Cisse coming off the board in the second round at No. 55 overall to the Los Angeles Chargers. Reuter had Kilgore projected to be selected in the third round at No. 68 overall to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Yates included Cisse in his two-round mock draft and had the now former Gamecocks' cornerback being picked in the second round at No. 39 overall to the Cleveland Browns. Here's what Yates said on Cisse in his mock draft.

Cornerback is a sneaky need for the Browns opposite five-time Pro Bowler Denzel Ward. Cisse is a high-upside player who is comfortable getting up into press coverage and being physical with wide receivers at the point of attack.

At the combine, Cisse recorded a 41-inch vertical and a broad jump of 10'11". His vertical and broad jump were both fourth among cornerbacks. At South Carolina's Pro Day, Cisse clocked in a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash.

Kilgore logged a 4.4 in the 40, a 4.32 in the 20-yard shuttle, a 37" vertical and a 10'10" broad jump. His broad jump was tied for first among safeties at the combine while his 20-yard shuttle and 40-yard dash finished second and fifth, respectively. His 16 reps on the bench press was tied for second among his position group.

Cisse logged 27 total tackles with 1.5 tackles for loss, five pass breakups and one interception in his one season with the Gamecocks after transferring from N.C. State. His best performance statistically came against Vanderbilt, when he was credited with five tackles while also forcing a fumble.

Kilgore declared for the NFL Draft after spending the last three seasons with the Gamecocks. In his three years, he recorded 178 total tackles while breaking up 21 passes and intercepting eight in 36 games played. This season, Kilgore was credited with 54 tackles and two interceptions.
