New England Patriots legend Tom Brady is, in the minds of many, the greatest quarterback in the history of the NFL. Throughout the course of his 23-year career, he won a record seven Super Bowls and hold numerous other career passing records.
Brady, 48, has been retired from the NFL for four seasons and is currently a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. He is also a game-day analyst for Fox and calls games on Sundays for the network.
But he has given a return to playing in the NFL some thought.

Brady last played in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2022. He has since gone on to be involved in the different endeavors mentioned above, as well as many others.
Recently, Brady participated in some flag football exhibition games between the US national team and current/former NFL players. It was during these contests that the subject of an NFL return came up.
Brady admitted that he has had discussions with the league about it, but that he is also happily retired:
“I actually have inquired, and they don’t like that idea very much. So I’m going to leave it at that.
“We explored a lot of different things, and I’m very happily retired. Let me just say that, too.”
The idea that an older quarterback could come out of retirement after so many years became plausible when Philip Rivers came out of retirement after four years to play for the Indianapolis Colts last season.
Unlike Rivers, who is 44, Brady is four years older and part of a team’s ownership group. If he were to ever play in the NFL again, he would have to give up his ownership percentage of the Raiders.
