The weekend of April 23-25 for the 2026 National Football League Draft figures to be a big one for the Ohio State football brother duo of Sonny Styles and Lorenzo Styles Jr.
The Styles brothers could become the first set of brothers from Ohio State to be selected in the same NFL draft. The brothers, the sons of former OSU linebacker Lorenzo Styles, were actually two years apart as they played high school ball at nearby Pickerington Central High School. But with Sonny reclassifying up one class and Lorenzo redshirting one year, they ended up in the same draft class.
Both of the Styles brothers performed well at the NFL Combine in late February in Indianapolis. Sonny Styles confirmed his first-round draft status with his workout. He measured 6-5, 244 pounds with an arm length of 32-7/8 inches and a wingspan of 80-7/8 (tops among linebackers). He had the best marks among the linebackers in the 40-yard dash (4.46 seconds), 10-yard split (1.56 seconds), vertical jump (43-1/2 inches) and broad jump (11 feet, two inches).
Likewise, Lorenzo Styles Jr. excelled as well in Indy and he now seems likely to be drafted in a middle or late round. He was measured at 6-foot ½, 194 pounds with an arm length of 31-5/8 inches. His 40-yard time of 4.27 seconds is believed to be the fastest ever by an Ohio State product at the combine. That time was the fastest 40-yard time among all safety prospects. His 10-yard split of 1.49 seconds was also the fastest. His vertical jump of 39 inches was fourth among safeties who worked out.
Sonny Styles did so well he chose not to work out at Ohio State's Pro Day on Wednesday. Lorenzo was unable to work out as he had a surgical procedure on his left shoulder, which caused problems for him during this past season with the Buckeyes.
Sonny is projected to be one of as many as five first-round picks from Ohio State in the 2026 draft. He would be joined by fellow linebacker Arvell Reese, wide receiver Carnell Tate, safety Caleb Downs and possibly defensive tackle Kayden McDonald.
He is ranked as the No. 10 draft prospect overall and No. 1 linebacker by CBSSports.com. CBSSports.com's Ryan Wilson has elevated Sonny up to the No. 4 overall pick where he would go to the Tennessee Titans. CBSSports.com's Mike Renner has Sonny going to the New York Giants at No. 5 overall.
Sonny lived up to his lofty recruiting ranking as a three-year starter for the Buckeyes. He worked as a safety as a sophomore in 2023 and moved to linebacker for the 2024-25 seasons. He is a veteran of 53 games with 43 starts. In four years, he totaled 244 tackles, 21-1/2 TFLs and eight sacks. He led OSU the last two years in tackles, totaling 100 tackles (with 10-1/2 TFLs and six sacks) in 2024 and 80 in 2025.
Lorenzo Styles Jr. is listed as the No. 206 overall draft prospect and No. 20 at cornerback, according to CBSSports.com. That would place him in the sixth or seventh round.
Lorenzo originally attended Notre Dame and played 26 games there as a wide receiver in 2021-22, amassing 54 receptions, 684 yards and two touchdowns. He transferred to Ohio State to concentrate on playing defense. He was a backup in 2023-24 before moving into the starting lineup as the slot corner in 2025. He had 30 tackles, 1-1/2 TFLs and two pass breakups in 2025.
Speaking at the Pro Day on Wednesday, the brothers said they plan to attend the draft in Pittsburgh for the first round to celebrate Sonny's selection before returning home to watch the rest of the draft.
