Jaylen Brown Achilles Injury Sidelines MVP Candidate For Celtics-Hawks Game

Boston Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown will miss the team's Friday night home game against the Atlanta Hawks due to an Achilles injury.

Brown will join two-time All-Star center Nikola Vucevic in street clothes, as the latter recovers from a right ring finger fracture.

On the positive side, both center Neemias Queta (right thumb sprain) and guard Derrick White (right knee contusion) are listed as AVAILABLE for Friday's contest.

Brown, Queta and White had all previously been listed as QUESTIONABLE for the Eastern Conference showdown, though JB was notably on the injury report due to left calf tightness, not an Achilles issue.

"Celtics Injury Report Update for tonight vs. ATL: Jaylen Brown - Left Achilles Tendinitis - OUT Neemias Queta - AVAILABLE Nikola Vucevic - Right Ring Finger Fracture - OUT Derrick White - AVAILABLE," the Celtics' official account posted on X.

Brown had a big game last time out, helping lead Boston to an impressive win against the NBA-champion Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday with 31 points.

The Hawks (41-32) have been arguably the hottest team in the NBA in March and have won 14 of their last 15 contests.
