He's a future superstar: Man Utd want to sign the 'next Lamine Yamal' alongside Sandro Tonali…

Manchester United look to be preparing for a blockbuster summer transfer window as they prepare for an influx of matches next season.

With no European football on the agenda this term, Man United have only had to face their 38 Premier League fixtures alongside domestic cup competitions, although they were knocked out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle by Brighton and Hove Albion.

The lack of games outside the United Kingdom has probably boosted their Premier League season, with the Red Devils currently on course to qualify for the Champions League for the first time since they were eliminated at the group stage in 2023.

United lie seven points above sixth-placed Chelsea with seven top-flight fixtures left to play, with clubs knowing that a top-five finish is likely to guarantee a spot in Europe's elite club competition for 2026-27.

The names being linked with United are coming thick and fast with central midfield a key focus, but the club are looking at other positions as their budget could be boosted by having Champions League football back at Old Trafford.

Man United Put Yan Diomande 'High' on Their List

If there is one attacker who could be in demand for multiple top clubs across Europe this summer, it is probably going to be RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande.

The 19-year-old has had a stunning breakthrough campaign for the Bundesliga club, scoring 11 goals and providing a further eight assists in 29 matches in all competitions.

The teenager has drawn comparisons with Manchester City star Antoine Semenyo for his style of play, with United just one of the clubs reportedly taking a close look at the Ivory Coast international.

Premier League rivals Liverpool are also considering him as a replacement for Mohamed Salah, although Sky Sports have revealed that Diomande is 'high' on United's list of left wing targets ahead of the summer and that they could make an early move for him to see off their competition.

According to the Daily Mail, United have also decided that Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali is their top midfield target and that they will make a formal approach to sign him at the end of the season.

It has been claimed previously that the Magpies could demand up to £100m for the Italy international this summer.

Diomande is a Future Superstar

Yan Diomande

It is no coincidence that United are just one of a number of top European clubs looking closely at Diomande - he is a future superstar.

The 19-year-old has explosive pace and is a nightmare for opposition full-backs 1v1, while he is also willing to work hard defensively too.

What is most impressive for a player of his age is how he is backing up his quality and skill with brilliant goal contribution numbers.

His consistent performances have led to shouts of him being the 'next Lamine Yamal' by one journalist, and he is destined for bigger things than Leipzig.

It will be interesting to see if anyone is willing to pay his reported €100m (£87m) asking price this summer.

Whoever does will be getting one hell of a player.
