Opening Day Weekend: Steelers Friday Night Five Questions

Happy Friday, and I hope yinz are doing well.

The big wave of free agency has passed, but things are still on the upswing. Until the draft, the Steelers have one major question still on the docket, and that’s Aaron Rodgers’ status. The veteran hasn’t given them an answer yet about his 2026 plans and seems to have no plans of doing so in the near future.

Obviously, that can complicate things. Last offseason the Steelers went through the draft business as usual, not selecting a quarterback until Will Howard in the sixth round. Mike Tomlin later revealed that the Steelers were confident Rodgers was coming before the draft anyway. If the Steelers don’t draft a quarterback high next month, Rodgers is likely coming to town, or they truly are fine with Howard.

Speaking of the draft, that’s been shaken up a bit by the Steelers’ free agency moves. Pittsburgh no longer has any glaring holes, except for maybe along the offensive line. That, receiver, and the defensive backfield all seem like positions the Steelers will want to address early.

As always, we’re here with you throughout the weekend for whatever news comes our way.

Have a safe and happy weekend.
