Tyrese Maxey makes major injury recovery progress for 76ers vs. Hornets

Maxey (finger) is now questionable to play for Philadelphia.

It appears that Tyrese Maxey will return to the Philadelphia 76ers way sooner than was anticipated.

Philadelphia 76ers / Schedule

The star guard has been made questionable to play in the Sixers' Saturday showdown against the Charlotte Hornets. He has been out since March 7 due to a tendon strain in his right pinkie finger.

He already missed the last 10 games for Philadelphia.

This serves as a huge development for both Maxey and the 76ers. Initially, it was announced that the franchise guard would be out for about three weeks. Yet, upon this latest status change, Maxey could finally play for the 76ers upon a quick healing.

Maxey's return will be pivotal for the 76ers, as both Joel Embiid and Paul George have already rejoined the team.

He has been the Sixers' most productive player, averaging a team-high 29.0 points and 6.7 assists while leading the league in minutes (38.3).

With nine games left in their season, the 76ers are desperate to evade the Play-In Tournament. They are currently 40-33 in the Eastern Conference standings.
