Utah Jazz fall apart late, drop fourth straight game in Denver

DENVER — Utah remains winless against Denver this season after a late Nuggets run resulted in a fourth-straight Jazz loss at Ball Arena on Friday.

Kyle Filipowski, in his return from injury, led the team with 25 points and eight rebounds. Cody Williams backed him up with 24, and five other Jazz players scored in double figures.

The loss drops Utah to 21-53 on the season. They remain at 14th in the Western Conference and 26th in the NBA.

The Jazz played Jokic well in their last meeting on March 2.

He took just 11 shots and had three turnovers.

Let’s see what happens tonight.

First Quarter

Utah has a method for guarding Jokic, and they’re running with it.

Right there, Harkless was the on-ball defender at the elbow. Sensabaugh digs from the right wing, and they get the steal.

You can’t stop him, but you can definitely be annoying with pesky perimeter defenders.

Second Quarter

I really think John Konchar is going to be a key part of Utah’s bench unit next season.

His willingness to do the little things and get his points in the flow of the offense really stands out.

Oscar’s threading the needle and it’s time to get Jitty 🕺

Good quarter from John Konchar who has 10 points on 5-6 shooting.

I know it may feel like there aren’t any basketball implications, and only results matter at this point in the season.

But it really is an important stretch for some Jazz players. A chance to show out in expanded roles they won’t have next year.

If they are on the Jazz roster next year (who knows), John Konchar and Svi Mykhailiuk could be a headache for opposing teams just because they play so hard.

Solid depth pieces who demand attention with their constant movement.

I think Cody Williams just stepped on the foot of a cameraman and tweaked his ankle.

Looks like he’ll stay in the game. Right now he’s got 24 points and 7 assists.

— Chandler Holt (@CHoltSports) March 28, 2026

These games are obviously far from traditional regular-season contests.

BUT, I think it’s safe to say Cody Williams isn’t accidentally putting up some of these numbers.

He really is figuring out the different ways he can help a team.

With 2:59 left, the @utahjazz lead the @nuggets 126-121.

Fair to see this would be one of the most unexpected outcomes of the NBA season if the Jazz escape with a win. #TakeNote pic.twitter.com/Z2mJf3GaWq

Jamal Murray celebrates as it looks like the Nuggets might just survive the Elijah Harkless, Kennedy Chandler, Ace Bailey, John Konchar, and Bez MBeng-led Jazz.
