Luke Littler’s dream of signing Angelo Stiller for Manchester United might be a pipe-dream, if BILD are to be believed anyway.
The German newspaper report on the 24-year-old VfB Stuttgart midfielder today. And it seems Littler’s dream of seeing him at Old Trafford won’t be happening.
The darts champions went viral this week when he was asked at the Darts Premier League in Berlin who his favourite German footballer was. His answer was Stiller. He then added a transfer request to the Stuttgart star.
“Come to United! Please, come to us! We need help. Casemiro is leaving us,” he said. Intriguingly, Stiller saw the clip and even liked it.
Manchester United effort in 2025
There’s something to the request too, according to BILD. They report that the Red Devils approached Angelo Stiller last summer, hoping to sign him in the final stages of the transfer window.
But Manchester United were turned down. The Stuttgart midfielder didn’t want to leave the cup winners. His main goal at the time was to stay a key player and earn a place at the World Cup.
That is currently not working out. While he’s a lynchpin at Stuttgart, there’s questions about whether that will get him into Germany’s squad. The hope is to seize his chance during this international break.
Playing on the big stage would also allow him to further showcase his skills to the world’s top clubs.
Manchester United interest quiet
That’s necessary as BILD also report that no clubs have recently expressed concrete interest in Angelo Stiller to VfB.
That includes Manchester United, despite their need for a new midfielder and their effort last summer. A report in November did state that they remained keen, though.
Whether Littler’s efforts this week change that, remains to be seen. For now, it appears that Stiller needs to do something impressive in this international break, and beyond to drum up interest.
