The 2026 NBA Playoffs are still weeks away, but the Toronto Raptors are facing a notable injury concern before they get there.

Heading into the Friday, March 27, matchup between the Raptors and the Pelicans, Immanuel Quickley was ruled out for the third-straight game.

The starting guard has been dealing with a foot-related issue, which is causing some concern as the Raptors work on making a playoff push.

Before the Raptors tipped off against the Western Conference squad, Raptors head coach Darko Rajaković addressed the state of Quickley’s setback.

While the organization doesn’t seem to be sounding the alarms, the update isn’t super promising, considering what’s at stake in the coming weeks.

Immanuel Quickley Gets A Concerning Update

via Josh Lewenberg, TSN: “Rajakovic said Quickley’s nagging plantar fasciitis has been bothering him for a couple weeks but flared up recently. Only way for it to completely heal is to rest for 2-4 weeks but that won’t be the case for IQ, “he’s going to be available to play,” but they’ll have to manage it.”

Although Quickley hasn’t been on the court for the Raptors lately, it doesn’t sound like that’s going to be a long-term situation.

In an ideal world, Quickley would have the wiggle room to take the time off he needs in order to rest and recover for the playoffs, but the Raptors are too deep into the season.

Following the 119-106 win over the Pelicans on Friday, the Raptors have nine games left on their schedule. They are set for a 6 PM ET tip against the Orlando Magic on Sunday, March 29.

If Quickley doesn’t get the nod to play in that game, he’ll keep an eye on the Tuesday, March 31, game against the Detroit Pistons.

For the first time since Quickley landed in Toronto via trade from the New York Knicks, the Raptors are looking to compete in the NBA Playoffs.

Following Friday’s win, the Raptors are the Eastern Conference’s fifth seed. They hold a 41-32 record.

The Raptors aren’t out of the Play-In Tournament picture just yet, but they have a favorable standing over the Atlanta Hawks (0.5 games), Philadelphia 76ers (1.0 games), Charlotte Hornets (2.0 games), and the Orlando Magic (2.0 games).

This season, Quickley has appeared in 67 games for Toronto. The veteran guard is shooting 44.5% from the field and 37.4% from three, to average 16.9 points per game.

Along with his scoring, Quickley is producing 4.1 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game.
