Austin Reaves blasts MVP rankings as Luka Doncic drops

Austin Reaves questioned the NBA MVP rankings after Luka Doncic dropped in the race despite a dominant stretch of performances.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves did not hold back when talking about his teammate Luka Doncic and the current MVP race.

After the Lakers 116-99 win over the Brooklyn Nets, Reaves questioned how Doncic is not leading the race despite his recent performances.

"He continues to drop in the MVP race, which is insane to me," Reaves said in a post-game comment. "I guess it don't really matter, maybe he's gotta score 60, I don't know."

Doncic once again delivered, extending his streak of 30-point games to 12 in a row. The Slovenian star has been putting up elite numbers throughout March while leading the Lakers to a 12-2 record in that stretch.

Despite that, Doncic dropped from No. 2 to No. 4 in the latest NBA MVP Ladder. Just a week earlier, he was sitting near the top of the race, but even after averaging 42.0 points and guiding the Lakers to a 3-1 record during that span, he slipped in the rankings.
