Odell Beckham Jr. #3 of the Miami Dolphins looks on before facing the Arizona Cardinals.
The Kansas City Chiefs have a host of needs, and while an elite wide receiver is on the list, it may not be high enough to guarantee the team lands one in the coming months.
Kansas City holds two first-round picks (Nos. 9 and 29), but has other holes to address at edge-rusher, right tackle and cornerback. If the Chiefs don’t end up selecting a top-end WR who can step in and contribute immediately as a rookie, the team will be among the most likely to pursue veteran options on value deals.
One choice is a reunion with Tyreek Hill, though he is coming off a serious knee injury and has proven a volatile presence on and off the field at different times over the course of his career. The Chiefs remain among the favorites to sign Hill, though another option has emerged in recent weeks: Odell Beckham Jr.
Odell Beckham Jr. Caught Teams’ Attention During Tom Brady’s Flag Football Event

Beckham Jr. didn’t play at all in 2025, during which the NFL handed him a six-game suspension for violating its performance-enhancing drug policy.
However, he impressed during Tom Brady’s recent Fanatics Flag Football Classic. Jordan Schultz reported that Beckham is looking to join a team and play in the league in 2026, after which John Breech of CBS Sports dubbed the Chiefs a top fit for Beckham.
The Chiefs already have Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy and Tyquan Thornton, but all three of those guys come with some major question marks.
Thornton only caught 19 passes last season and Worthy had a frustrating year with just 42 catches. As for Rice, he was accused of domestic violence in a lawsuit that was filed in February, and there’s certainly a chance that could lead to some sort of punishment from the NFL.
Basically, the Chiefs could use some help at receiver and Patrick Mahomes would probably be thrilled to add some veteran depth at the position.

Beckham was a Pro Bowler three times in his first three seasons with the New York Giants and earned second-team All-Pro honors twice.
He later played for the Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Rams (where he helped the team win a Super Bowl in 2021) and Baltimore Ravens before landing with the Miami Dolphins in 2024. Beckham appeared in nine games that season, but tallied just nine receptions for 55 receiving yards.
Over the course of his 10-year professional career, Beckham has amassed 575 receptions for 7,987 yards and 59 scores. He will turn 34 years old in November.
Beckham has made just north of $108 million during his time in the league. He played for Miami on a one-year contract worth $3 million two seasons back, which could provide some insight into what Kansas City might have to spend to sign Beckham for the 2026 campaign.
