Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane doesn’t expect that Liam Rosenior will be given much time to turn things around as Chelsea boss.
The Blues have lost their last four games in all competitions, conceding 12 goals in the process, and while some have argued that Rosenior must be given some leeway as an inexperienced head coach, Keane disagrees.
Historically, Chelsea have been quick to fire managers, no matter their reputation, and speaking on The Overlap (quotes via Football.London), Keane said Rosenior will be sacked if results don’t pick up soon:
“You’re never going to get time at Chelsea, are you? Any young manager who goes to Chelsea – even with experienced managers, they’ve done it with better managers than him – they’re going to get rid of you, that’s the club.”
Chelsea intend to keep Rosenior in charge (for now)
All of the most recent briefings coming out of the club suggest that Clearlake will retain the services of the 41-year-old, even if the Blues fail to finish in the Champions League places. They are keen to give him a transfer window to stamp his mark on the squad.

However, we have heard this line plenty of times in the past. A couple of months before Graham Potter was sacked, the exact same message was communicated to the press.
Who would be appointed if Rosenior is sacked?
The club are not actively looking for replacements at the moment, but there have been rumours that they are fans of Como boss Cesc Fabregas. The former Chelsea midfielder has worked worked wonders with the Italian minnows.
Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann, Stuttgart’s Sebastian Hoeness and former Barcelona manager Xavi are other names that have come under consideration before. Read more here as we assess all four potential candidates.
