Keinan Davis, a former Premier League forward, has praised Chelsea striker Joao Pedro and said he wouldn’t be surprised if the Brazilian ended up at Arsenal, the Blues’ London rival. Davis, who played with Pedro at Watford, thinks the 24-year-old is going to be one of the best players in the world.
Pedro came to Chelsea from Brighton last summer in a deal worth up to £60 million. He has had a great first season at Stamford Bridge. This season, the Brazilian forward has scored 14 goals and assisted five others in 30 Premier League games. In all competitions, he has scored 18 goals and assisted nine others in 40 games. In 2026, he has been in amazing form, scoring 11 goals in his last 13 games.
Davis, who played for Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest and now plays for Udinese in Italy, told talkSPORT that Pedro’s skill was always clear when they were both in the Championship.
“Yeah, for sure. You saw his quality in training. Even playing with him, he’s Brazilian, so he’s just got that flair and belief in himself that he knows he’s a very good player.”
“He’s a good guy as well. He’s not disrespectful or anything like that; he’s just a top person. So yeah, you could definitely see that you can move on to make big steps. To see him at Chelsea now is like… even if he went to Arsenal or something like that, I wouldn’t be surprised. He’s very good.”
On March 4, Pedro scored his first hat-trick for Chelsea in a 4-1 Premier League win over Aston Villa, a team that were in the top four. Three days later, he scored again as the Blues beat Wrexham in the fifth round of the FA Cup to move on to the quarter-finals.
Davis is not the only one who has praised the former Brighton player. Rosenior, the manager of Chelsea, has even said that Pedro is as good as Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, and Kylian Mbappé.
Chelsea’s Top-Four Battle Hinges on Pedro’s Goals
Chelsea are currently in sixth place in the Premier League with 48 points from 30 games. They are one point behind Liverpool and three points behind Aston Villa in fourth place. The Blues have had a rough time since early March, winning only one of their last five top-flight games and falling down the table.
Pedro is trying to become the first Chelsea striker to score 20 league goals in a single season since Diego Costa. His contributions will be crucial as Rosenior’s team faces a tough stretch of games. On April 4, Chelsea play Port Vale in the FA Cup quarter-finals. After that, they will host Manchester City and Manchester United in two consecutive Premier League games. If the Blues want to play in the Champions League next season, their star striker will have to be on fire.
