After a disappointing 2025 NFL season, the New York Giants have made drastic changes, most notably bringing in former Super Bowl champion head coach John Harbaugh to succeed Brian Daboll.

With Harbaugh now running the show in New York, the Giants have a chance to resurrect the storied franchise, with some promising young players leading the rebuild, including Jaxson Dart, Cam Skattebo and Malik Nabers.

With the Giants having a talented young core and a proven leader on the sideline moving forward, the team seems to be headed in the right direction, as New York could be a force to be reckoned with as early as next season.

An interesting wrinkle in the Giants’ upward trajectory is the prospect of veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., a two-time All-Pro, potentially returning to the team before the 2026 campaign.

The rumors have been swirling this NFL offseason about Beckham being linked to his former team, with those rumors kicking into high gear after Nabers posted a comment on the 33-year-old’s recent Instagram post following the one-time Super Bowl champion playing flag football.

“Let’s play together!” Nabers commented on Beckham’s Instagram post.

The last time Beckham suited up for a team in the NFL was with the Miami Dolphins during the 2024 season. He played in only nine games that year, making virtually no impact, catching a total of nine catches for 55 receiving yards.

Beckham then went unsigned last season, prompting many to speculate that his time in the NFL had come to an end.

However, returning to the Giants in a limited role might make sense for the team and the veteran wideout, even if it is a farewell tour of sorts.

There’s definitely some buzz about Beckham returning to the Giants during this offseason, with NFL insider Jordan Schultz saying the following about the possibility of that reunion happening in New York, via SiriusXM NFL Radio.

“There’s a real shot Odell Beckham has a home going into the season,” Schultz said. “I don’t think anything is necessarily imminent, but this is the healthiest he’s been in the last couple of years…I can’t think of a better story than the New York Giants, ending his career there.”

Even ESPN’s Adam Schefter admitted that Beckham returning to the Giants makes sense during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.

The real question now is whether Harbaugh and company want to entertain the prospect of bringing on Beckham for the 2026 NFL season. There’s no doubt some upside to bringing on the veteran wideout if he’s able to stay healthy and doesn’t become a problem off the field.

Harbaugh does have some experience with Beckham, as he coached him during the 2023 campaign with the Baltimore Ravens. That year, Beckham caught 35 passes for 565 receiving yards and three touchdowns, playing in 14 games during that season.
