Arsenal star wants to leave, won't sign new deal, several clubs already in contact - journalist

Arsenal could be about to wave goodbye to one player in the summer transfer window, with the star now setting his sights on an N5 exit.

Arsenal make summer plans amid chase for treble

The Gunners may have lost out on the chance to seal an unprecedented quadruple, but Mikel Arteta's side are still battling for the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.

Nine points clear at the top of the Premier League, a Champions League quarter-final against Sporting CP on the horizon, and an FA Cup last-eight tie to come right after the international break puts Arsenal in a very good position to make history.

The Carabao Cup final defeat to Man City was a bitter blow, but the treble dream is not yet dead. At the Emirates, hope is running at levels not seen since the Invincibles era.

The summer, whatever it brings in terms of silverware, will bring significant change.

Julian Alvarez has reportedly emerged as a significant transfer target, with the 26-year-old Argentine World Cup winner at Atlético Madrid shining in La Liga.

Gyokeres' dream signing: Arsenal make approach for £87m Liverpool target

Arsenal could be in the mix for a statement deal to aid Viktor Gyokeres.

Sporting director Andrea Berta — who spent 12 years working at Atletico before arriving at Arsenal — is said to be leveraging his deep connections to ponder what would be a mammoth deal in the region of £87m.

Barcelona remain a competing destination, but their financial constraints give Arsenal genuine hope of landing one of the most complete strikers on the planet.

To help fund that ambition, departures are also being planned, especially after last summer's near-£270m spending spree.

Ben White is among those expected to move on, and now the future of another long-serving name has moved into sharper focus.

Gabriel Jesus wants to leave Arsenal with 'several' approaches made

Gabriel Jesus looks increasingly likely to leave the Emirates at the end of the season, with Brazilian outlet UOL reporting this week that the forward wants to move on this summer.

His timing at Palmeiras' Academia de Futebol during the international break has only added fuel to an already burning fire.

Jesus returned to the São Paulo club where he grew up during the break — with Arsenal's blessing, given the strong relationship between the two clubs.

He was filmed working on his conditioning at the state-of-the-art training base where his career began, and his words on the visit will have pricked the ears of Arsenal fans.

"Everyone knows that Palmeiras is like my home," he told Globo Esporte.

"It's where I grew up, and I always have the doors open to go to the club."

The subtext is not difficult to read.

Jesus has a contract until 2027, but UOL and journalist Flavio Latif report that he won't sign a new deal.

Viktor Gyokeres arrived last summer and immediately displaced him as the first-choice striker, leaving Jesus to eke out impact from the bench and in rotation.

He has made only two Premier League starts this season, and while his return from an ACL injury — described by the player himself as the hardest of his career — has been encouraging, with five goals and two assists since his comeback, the hierarchy at the club has shifted permanently around him.

Jesus's camp have apparently received 'several' approaches already prior to the summer, but his preference right now is not a return to Palmeiras, but to remain in Europe.

With history potentially on the horizon at Arsenal, Jesus will play his part in the run-in.

However, come the summer, a new chapter appears to beckon for the Brazilian.
