ESPN Highlights Packers’ 3 Major Needs Ahead of NFL Draft

The Green Bay Packers are approaching the 2026 NFL Draft with a clear focus on addressing key roster gaps. After an active offseason, the team has identified three major needs that could shape its draft strategy.

One of the primary areas of concern is along the offensive line, where depth and consistency remain issues. Strengthening protection will be critical as the Packers look to support their offense and maintain stability in both the passing and running game.

Another pressing need is at cornerback, where the secondary has faced challenges against high-level passing attacks. Adding talent and depth at the position would help improve coverage and provide more flexibility on defense.

The pass rush also stands out as an area that requires attention. While Green Bay has shown flashes of pressure, the unit has lacked consistent production, making it important to add another edge presence.

Green Bay needs to address a couple of needs ahead of the upcoming NFL draft. This is detailed more in an analysis by Rob Demovsky for ESPN.

Top three needs: edge, CB, OL. After trading Rashan Gary and losing Kingsley Enagbare in free agency (and with Micah Parsons unlikely to be ready for the start of the season), the Packers might need multiple pass rushers. At cornerback, they signed Benjamin St-Juste in free agency, but his relatively modest contract (two years, $10 million) suggests they don’t view him as a permanent starter. Also, they basically swapped him for Nate Hobbs, who was released, in a position that was already thin.

Though their starters on the offensive line appear set with Jordan Morgan taking over for Rasheed Walker at left tackle, they need depth across the entire front.

Addressing these three positions would provide a more balanced roster heading into the season. The franchise has an opportunity to target prospects who can contribute early while fitting into their long-term plans.

As the draft approaches, Green Bay’s decisions will play a key role in defining its trajectory. Successfully filling these needs could position the team for a stronger and more competitive NFL campaign in 2026.
