New York Knicks Announce Roster Move Before OKC Thunder Game

On Sunday evening, the New York Knicks will be in Oklahoma City to take on the Thunder.

The Knicks most recently lost to the Hornets (in Charlotte) by a score of 114-103.

Ariel Hukporti did not play in the game.

Before Sunday’s game, the Knicks announced that they had assigned Hukporti to the G League.

NY Knicks PR wrote: “The New York Knicks assign Ariel Hukporti to the Westchester Knicks.”

Hukporti’s Season

Hukporti has been excellent during his stints in Westchester.

On Saturday night, he led the team to a 123-121 victory over the Windy City Bulls.

The 23-year-old finished with 32 points, ten rebounds, one assist, one steal and five blocks while shooting 13/23 from the field and 4/6 from three-point range in 38 minutes of playing time.

@NBA_NewYork wrote: “Ariel Hukporti didn’t attempt any 3s at all in the NBA, Summer or G Leagues until December, but finishes the G League season 8 for his last 21–38%—from deep, including 4-6 today”

Hukporti was the 58th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

He has spent each of his first two season as a pro with the Knicks organization.
