Chelsea have the chance to bring in some new faces when the transfer window opens up
Chelsea are ‘making checks’ on OH Leuven defender Roggerio Nyakossi, according to The Sun. The London outfit are being linked with a move for the centre-back this summer. The report adds that West Ham, Everton, Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Fulham are also in the mix.
The Blues are back in action after the international break. They face Port Vale in the FA Cup quarter-final with a place at Wembley awaiting the winner. Liam Rosenior’s side have lost their last four games on the spin in all competitions.

Chelsea could see Nyakossi as someone to bolster their defensive department. If he joined them, he would give them more competition and depth at the back. At the age of 22, he has potential to get better and develop in the future.
Nyakossi, who is a Switzerland youth international, has been on the books of OH Leuven since signing for them back in January. He has since become one of their most prized assets. They will face a battle to keep hold of him in the next transfer window amid attention from elsewhere.
The Geneva-born man started his career with spells in his native country as a youngster at both Meyrin and Servette. Marseille then came calling for his services in 2022 and he spent three years in France. However, he never played for the first-team of the Ligue 1 giants and was given the green light to depart for Belgium and he hasn’t looked back since.
Speaking after Chelsea’s 3-0 loss to Everton last time out, Rosenior said: "My job, it hurts. Regardless of your position, it hurts to lose games of football. Yeah, the most disappointing evening so far in terms of the things we've spoken about, not gifting goals away and making sure we're in the game, getting control of the game.
"It wasn't there and it turned into a really difficult evening where the result and performance was nowhere near what we expected or wanted. In terms of moving forward we're one point away from the Champions League position. We need to keep working in this way."
