Approach made: Fabrizio Romano says 'world-class' Man Utd star in talks to join MLS club

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is in talks to join MLS side Inter Miami on a free transfer, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The Brazil international has no shortage of suitors after announcing he will leave Old Trafford at the end of the season, with clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia also submitting proposals.

Casemiro is believed to be open to a move to Miami, but a deal will depend on the financial proposal as the 33-year-old continues to assess his options.

United have made Casemiro’s replacement a priority ahead of the summer transfer window, with Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes among those on the radar.

Inter Miami in Talks to Sign Casemiro

According to Romano, Casemiro has attracted interest from several clubs amid his impending United departure, including Inter Miami, who have presented their initial proposal.

United have been heavily reliant on Casemiro in the middle of the park this season, with the Brazilian making 30 Premier League appearances and scoring seven goals.

Amid his resurgence, there has been talk of United making a potential U-turn and offering the 'world-class' 33-year-old a new contract.

Casemiro shut down the rumours himself earlier this week, saying ‘the decision has been made and is final’, with United now focusing on finding the Brazilian’s successor.

Man Utd ‘Working Hard’ on Sandro Tonali Deal

Among those on United’s shortlist is Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali. According to Romano, the Old Trafford side are ‘working hard’ to sign the Italy international this summer.

Tonali was linked with a surprise St James’ Park exit in January and remains of interest to both Arsenal and Manchester City, despite Newcastle’s unwillingness to sell.

The Magpies are in a strong negotiating position for the Italian, who is under contract until the summer of 2029, and reports have suggested his value could stand at around £100m.

Tonali joined Newcastle from AC Milan in 2023 and has since made 104 appearances for the club, scoring 10 goals and providing 10 assists.
