Manchester United will get the chance to bring in some new faces when the summer transfer window opens up

Manchester United are ‘interested’ in £150m-rated Chelsea ace Cole Palmer along with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, according to The Sun. The report suggests the playmaker is becoming increasingly ‘disillusioned’ at Stamford Bridge. Therefore, he may well look to leave in the near future.

The Red Devils are on course to return to the Champions League this season. They are sat in 3rd place in the Premier League table behind Arsenal and Manchester City. Michael Carrick has done an impressive job since taking over as interim boss at Old Trafford.

Manchester United keen on Chelsea star Cole Palmer

Palmer would be a dream signing for United if they were able to lure him back up to Manchester from London. He would give the Red Devils more quality at the top end of the pitch. In addition, he is a proven performer at the top level and would seriously bolster their squad.

The 23-year-old, who has made 13 caps for England, rose up through the academy at City. He was a regular at various different youth levels before going on to play 41 matches for their first-team, chipping in with six goals. The Mancunian was then snapped up by Chelsea back in 2023.

Palmer has since become a key player with the Blues. He has fired 53 goals in 122 outings, 10 of which have come in this campaign. However, his situation is up in the air right now amid reports of him being unhappy and United could try and pounce.

He said in an interview earlier this month: “Yeah, I’m definitely looking ahead, because I feel like I’ve turned a corner. I just need to stay fit and perform. That tendency to look forward is mirrored by his approach on the pitch too.

“The new head coach has given us patterns, especially to the attackers. When people are running behind it does create space, so when players do that I feel like it helps me. There’s always options to play forward, so my first thought is always forward and see what the best option is.”

Palmer added: “When I’ve got confidence and I feel free, I can play my best football.”
