Chelsea are keeping close tabs on Switzerland Under 21 international Roggerio Nyakossi, according to reports.
The Sun claim that the Blues have joined several other Premier League clubs in pursuing the OH Leuven player.
It is believed that Liverpool, Everton, West Ham, Fulham and Crystal Palace are also keen on Nyakossi, who has been described as a “giant”, dominant centre-back.
Teams in Germany and Italy may enter the battle for the 22-year-old as well, with the defender expected to leave OH Leuven at the end of the season.

What do Chelsea fans need to know about the player?
Nyakossi started his career at Swiss Super League side Servette FC, having made his senior debut at the start of the 2021/22 season during a 5-1 defeat to FC Basel.
The centre-half had only played a handful of first-team matches before he was shipped out to Marseille in the summer of 2022 for €2m.
However, Nyakossi’s time in France wasn’t particularly fruitful. He never played for the first team, with all of his appearances coming for the B side in the fifth tier. Ultimately, he moved to Belgium last year in a deal worth €800,000.
Nyakossi will be available for a pretty low price
The Sun report that Leuven have slapped an £8m valuation on the Swiss centre-back. That is more than ten times the fee they paid for him, but it would still only be a drop in the ocean for the likes of Chelsea. Buy a Stadium tour with Virgin Experience days here.
One complication is that Nyakossi’s former club, Marseille, do have a buyback option, so that could still scupper the Blues’ plans to bring the player to Stamford Bridge this summer.
