Arsenal are the frontrunners to seal a deal to sign Club Brugge forward Nicolo Tresoldi this summer with talks underway, according to Christian Falk.
The Gunners are looking to strengthen their forward options this summer despite a fantastic campaign which has seen them reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup and Champions League, while they are also closing in on their first Premier League title since 2004 too.
With question marks over the futures of Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, and Kai Havertz, a new striker is being looked at by Mikel Arteta, and the club are now understood to be leading the race for one of the top young forwards in Europe.
Arsenal In Talks to Sign Nicolo Tresoldi
Nicolo Tresoldi
Tresoldi, who has scored 21 goals and registered five assists this season since his move to the Belgian side, has lit up Europe, and that has attracted the interest of several top clubs.
Arsenal are understood to be seriously interested in the young German, who is also eligible to represent Argentina and Italy, and talks are already underway about bringing him to north London.
The 21-year-old has been 'outstanding' this season, and Champions League clubs from Spain, Italy and Germany are all paying close attention to his situation. But it's Arsenal who are leading the race at the moment.
It's believed that Tresoldi will cost around €30m (£26.1m), which could be seen as a bargain if he is able to fulfil his potential, with many seeing him as 'the future of Germany in the striker position'.
Viktor Gyokeres is currently seen as the number one option as a striker at the Emirates Stadium, so it's unclear if Tresoldi would come in as a starter or as someone for the future.
Tresoldi Could Be Missing Link
Mikel Arteta
Arsenal know that they haven't had a striker this season who has been able to be a reliable source of goals, with Gyokeres having some struggles since his move to the club despite being the top scorer.
GIVEMESPORT asked ChatGPT how Tresoldi would fit into the Arsenal squad for next season and what he would bring, and this is how it responded:
Nicolò Tresoldi profiles as a pressing, physical No.9; suits Arsenal as a rotational striker behind a starter
Brings box presence, movement and finishing instincts (0.5+ goals/90, strong runs)
Adds aerial threat + pressing intensity—useful in Arteta’s high press
Offers different profile to false-9 types: more direct, penalty-box focused
Limitations: link-up/creativity still raw; may struggle in Arsenal’s fluid build-up
