The New York Jets are coming off a brutal 2025 season led by new head coach Aaron Glenn. Fresh off a successful stint with the Detroit Lions as their defensive coordinator, Glenn struggled as a first year head coach. The team went 3-14 and secured the second overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Just a few months into their 2026 off-season, Aaron Glenn has already named his starting quarterback.

New York Jets’ HC Aaron Glenn Names Starting Quarterback
According to Ari Meirov of the 33rd Team:
#Jets HC Aaron Glenn told@judybattistathere’s “no doubt about it” that Geno Smith is his starting QB.
“Listen, he’s done it. I mean, those years in Seattle, when he was, I think, Comeback Player of the Year. Man, he was up for MVP early in the season. There’s no doubt in my mind that we brought a competent starter here to this team.”
The announcement immediately came with mixed reactions from fans:
“No doubt about it” in March… NFL coaches really be dropping season trailers like everything won’t change by Week 3 😭
Geno Smith got the vote of confidence, now comes the part where he has to survive the Jets experience 🔥
